AWH Special School for Mentally Handicapped, Tirurangadi

The school was established in the year 1992 at Thirurangadi. It was a realm of educational and vocational rehabilitation centre for the mentally challenged students. The school also cater the needs of their co-curricular activities and an all-around development to achieve life skills.

We have 40 children under the age group 18 enrolled in the school and 7 teaching and non-teaching faculties working continuously for their well-being. Service of speech therapist, physical educator, physiotherapist, craft teacher are also available for the children in regular time intervals. All national and state level programmes were also observed in the school with strong support of parents, teachers, children, social workers, politicians and government officials as per direction of the department. Our children bagged many state level and district level awards. School is earnestly looking for a permanent building for its full-fledged service with at least 10 classrooms.
