AWH Polytechnic College
AWH Polytechnic College is a self-financing polytechnic college managed by the Association for the welfare of the Handicapped (AWH), Kozhikode, Kerala. It offers three year Diploma programmes in Engineering. The Polytechnic is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and the State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala. AWH Polytechnic College was established in the year 2005. The college is located at Kuttikkattoor, 12 Km from Calicut city and almost 21 Km from Calicut international Airport. Kuttikaattoor is in the Calicut – Mavoor route at a distance of 6 km from Kozhikode Medical College. Currently there are four Diploma programmes with an annual approved intake of 240 students.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
This program is designed to produce technicians with broad knowledge in engineering with applications covering the design, development, manufacture, operation and maintenance of machines and mechanical devices. Mechanical engineering is one of the most basic engineering branches and has got its own relevance. The latest trends towards MEMS technology have considerably increased the scope of this branch of engineering.
Diploma in Tool and Die Engineering
It is the mother of all manufacturing and is affixed with molds, Jigs & fixtures, plastics, die casting. With the advent of technology this stream has attained new heights in terms of quality of products and ease of products. Mechanical Tool and Die technicians play a key role in manufacturing and service industries. Both traditional machining skills and advanced computer - aided manufacturing (CAM) techniques are used to create manufacturing or production equipments , jigs, fixtures, molds and dies for industries. This three year diploma course addresses the rapid changes in technology that have caused a revolution in tool and die making methods, bringing innovations in production processes.
Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering
One of the broad engineering field, Electronics and Communication encompasses the transmission of information across channels like coax cable or optical fiber. Production of equipment's such as routers, switches, fiber optics and electronic switching systems also comes under this tributary of engineering. In a nutshell, this branch of engineering deals with electronics devices and software interfaces.
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
Electronics and Computer Systems have transformed the field of medicine. It has become easy to diagnose and treat diseases by the application of these systems. The need for expertise to design and develop such devices brought about a revolution which gave birth to the department of Biomedical Engineering.
