About Us

Association for Welfare of the Handicapped.

The Association for Welfare of the Handicapped popularly Known as “AWH was formed in the year 1973. It was registered in 1975 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The organization is also registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act of 1976, with FC No.052880056 dated 10.4.1985. The organization has also obtained income tax exemption under sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Our Mission

To change the mindset of the society to accept and value differences by advocacy, equity in education and providing equal access to opportunities and resources.

A pilot project for street children implemented by AWH in Calicut, Kerala, supported by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.
